A Glimpse Into my Soul
|
I have been working with beads since 1994.
Someone offered to teach me and something just
clicked. Perhaps the spirit of my Blackfoot
Grandfather had found a way to teach me, to reach
me. Before discovering a beading teacher, I had
worked with many other mediums going all the way
back to my girlhood. Paper, pen, ink, graphite,
glass, cloth.
Working with the "sacred seeds" has taught me to
stop, be still and to focus my energy. When I did
this, I found I was learning a deep and abiding
respect for an ancient people. As I did this, I
found I was learning a deep and abiding respect
for Mother Earth and all Her creations. As I did
this, I found I was learning a deep and abiding
respect for myself. The sacred seeds give flight
to that part of me which can never be grounded,
broken. When you look at my work, you will see me.
My spiritual path has been long and twisting.I was raised
a baptist,and went on to try out several other denominations
through my early years.Always I felt a yearning towards which
this religion could not answer.I felt a tremendous pull from the
Earth , and a closeness, a comfort nothing worldly provided with such strength and compassion...and I began my Pagan journey.
Now, after many years my religion is like the warmest blanket
on a chill evening under the stars...I have found light; I have
found Love; I have found peace ...Thanks to my Lord and Lady in all
your facets...
